Dead Star by Paz Marques Banetiz is a story about a man named Alfredo Salazar, who has a fiancée in the person of Esperanza and the have been engaged for almost four years. Society views them as an ideal couple. In the near future, their marriage is about to take place, however, he sees another girl before the wedding when he went to the house of a judge with his dad. He tries to seek love in her but she declines. In his up coming wedding, Alfredo became a little confused when he was torn between two choices; to do what he should do by marrying Esperanza as prescribed by his parents or to do what he wanted to do by having Julia Salas, his dream girl, the dead star in his life
In the story, the dead star symbolizes a dream of a non-existent thing. The guy loves the girl. She was the star of his dream. He believed there was a love there, but he was a long way from having the girl, and the love he believed was feasible, never was, like a dead star far from him who could shine.
By reading this story, I could say that it is a not so typical love story that you could read or watch on any movie, though events or scenarios are usually common in the story however it has a twist at the ending part. So I would recommend veryone to read this story and be part of the chaos!
